SMS Blood Bank will start Nucleic acid testing (NAT) in this year. It is is a molecular technique for screening blood donations to reduce the risk of transfusion transmitted infections (TTIs) in the recipients, thus providing an additional layer of blood safety.
Before this test report waiting period was 3 months but now it will reduce to 14 days.
