Bariatric surgery at SMS Jaipur
A patient from Dubai has undergone Bariatric surgery at SMS hospital in Jaipur. These kinds of surgeries will encourage medical tourism in government sector due to lifestyle diseases of foreigners. Another patient from Dubai has also expressed his wish to undergo this surgery at SMS Jaipur. The patient wants to cover up the costs in less as the same surgery is costing them 26 to 40 lakhs in Dubai.
Mr. Makbool 48 years old with a weight of 169 kgs has undergone this surgery at SMS Jaipur. Because of extreme obesity, the patient could not even walk. It also caused him sleep apnea, which is a disease in which a patient sleeps while sitting. This condition also made it impossible for him to work in the office.
Since this surgery was very costly at Dubai, he could not bear the financial aspect of it there. Finally, he agreed to undergo the surgery at SMS hospital at Jaipur due to less cost. According to Gastro surgeon, Dr. Ajay Sharma, “There was a risk in the surgery due to extreme obesity. Laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery was performed on the patient. The patient was discharged after 6 days. Now his weight has decreased to 140 kgs. After this surgery, another patient from Dubai also wants to undergo this surgery at SMS Jaipur.
SMS hospital is funded by us taxpayers. This money and these privileges should be reserved for indians and not for some foreigners who come to our shores for cheap treatment and inturn take what is rightfully for our poor population.
