The Sawai Man Singh (SMS) hospital Jaipur India doctors conducted the first skin transplant and gave new life to a 14-year-old boy, who had suffered 40% burn injuries due to electrocution.

Fourteen-year-old Vishnu became the first recipient of cadaver skin transplant. For the past three months, he has been undergoing treatment in SMS hospital. But, the defining moment in his life came when doctors decided to give him a skin transplant, the first-of-its-kind in the hospital.

ILBS responsible for first 25 Cadaver Liver transplant 

Cadaver Liver transplant preparation in progress at SMS. ILBS head meets the medical minister Dr. Girish, Chief at Institute of Liver and Bleary science met the medical minister at his residence along with a team of specialty doctors. Mr. Rathore, Medical minister has given his directions to start a team of four specialist doctors, i.e. two from ILBS team and two from SMS under the head of SMS medical college and to start the work of liver transplant as soon as possible.

According to MOU, ILBS team would do the first 25 transplants and then later SMS doctors would take up the responsibility. He has asked to start the facility of both cadaver liver and live liver transplant.

In Special team – Dr Ajay Sharma, Dr Randhir Singh from SMS and DR Girish and one other specialist from ILBS team would be under the special team force. The medical minister took necessary information about the process of liver transplant and cost from Dr Girish and gave orders to the dean of SMS College to buy the needed equipment.

First case of Albright's hereditary osteodystrophy at SMS

We have heard of Kidney and Gall Bladder stones but this is one of the first cases in India of stones in Brain. A women aged 20 years of Jhunjunu has been diagnosed with Albright's hereditary osteodystrophy.

It happens in 3 out of ten lakh people. The women’s epilepsy episodes have been fully controlled through medication. According to DR U.S Jain of SMS Medical College, the rare disease thesis written by DR RS Jain of neurology department at SMS has been published in the British medical journal under the name Brain Stones.

According to Dr. RS Jain the women from Jhunjunu was suffering from epilepsy since last 10 years along with problems of stressed nerves of hands and feet and extreme pain. After diagnosis lack of calcium, and phosphate and Para thyroid in high numbers came forward which are main reasons for brain stones. She also had glaucoma eye surgery in the age of 18 years. After the treatment, she has recovered.
